The Tai Chi World of Suzy Chan Book Excerpt: After several years of reflection, I have finally built up the courage to write this book about the worst time in my life, I discovered I had cancer. It was not an easy time then, nor is it an easy topic to write about now, but I feel I was given a second chance at life for a purpose.

This purpose is to help as many people as possible, by writing about my experiences, my lack of knowledge about cancer, and how I have been able to deal with it.  This book is for all ages, sexes and illnesses that befall us. Young women as well as older women are devasted by breast cancer. I was even surprised when I heard that men also get breast cancer, which logically, should not come as a surprise when we think of the make up of the human body. I did not take any chemotherapy, radiation or any anti-estrogen therapy, due to various reasons.

However, the choice I made for myself is not for everyone as every circumstance is different; every treatment must be taken into consideration. I suggest you follow your doctor’s advice and your own intution about yourself. Alternative medicine should be used in conjuction with the conventional medicine so that you give yourself every opportunity to get better.
