WELCOME BACK TO WAH LUM!
We are thrilled you are returning to resume your training at the Wah Lum Temple. To ensure a smooth transition back into the Temple, please review the frequently asked questions below regarding curriculum, tuition, and uniforms.
RETURNING STUDENT FAQ
Will I learn the same material?
Yes! We are a standardized system, so you will be learning the same curriculum you were before leaving. You will be required to review all previous material taught to ensure your foundation is strong.
Will I pick up where I left off or do I need to test again?
To maintain the quality of our system, any student who has not been an active Wah Lum member for more than 6 months will need to re-test starting at the 10B level.
Is the tuition cost different?
Tuition rates may have updated since your last enrollment. Please check with the front office regarding the most current pricing for your program.
Can I wear my previous uniform?
Yes, provided it meets our current school guidelines. Students are required to wear Wah Lum Temple-issued uniforms at all times. Please see the specific requirements below:
- Kung Fu Uniform: Original “Wah Lum of USA” t-shirts, Wah Lum issued pants (viscose or printed), sash, and Temple-issued shoes.
- Tai Chi Uniform: Black Tai Chi jacket or White Tai Chi t-shirt, Wah Lum issued pants (viscose or printed), and Temple-issued shoes.
- Not Permitted: Shirts, sweatshirts, or jackets from other schools/cities; alternative colors or custom designs; and shoes with outside brand names (e.g., Fei Yue, etc.).
Uniform Exceptions (Footwear):
- Exceptions are only made for students wearing size 17+ or those with a documented medical necessity.
- Approval Process: 1. Submit a doctor’s note for our records. 2. The Temple must approve the specific alternative shoe before it is worn in class.
