VACATION & HOLIDAY POLICY
To ensure consistency in our programs and respect for our instructors’ time, please review our holiday schedule and make-up policies below.
STANDARD CLOSURES & MISSED CLASSES
Classes will not be held on national or local holidays, or during other times as directed by the school. The Temple does not allow make-up classes for missed classes, personal illnesses, personal vacations, or standard national holidays.
Annual National Holiday Closures:
- January 1: New Year’s Day (or observed date if on a weekend)
- May: Memorial Day
- July 4: Independence Day
- September: Labor Day
- November: Thanksgiving Day
- December 24: Christmas Eve
- December 25: Christmas Day
- December 31: New Year’s Eve
SPECIAL EVENT CLOSURES (Make-ups Allowed)
As a courtesy, we do allow make-up classes when the Temple specifically closes for our own annual events. These eligible events include:
- Chinese New Year
- Wah Lum Tournaments or Kung Fu Events
- Winter Holiday (Closure between Christmas and New Year’s — for kids classes only)
Make-Up Rules for Special Events:
- You must have a regularly scheduled class on the exact date of the Temple closure to be eligible for a make-up.
- Make-up classes must be completed within 2 weeks before or after the closure date.
- Students must RSVP with the front office prior to attending their make-up class.
Administrative Requests:
Any submission of an extenuating circumstance request regarding schedules or policies will be subject to a $50 administrative fee.
