I took the Ultimate Bodyshaping Course (UBC) twice to improve my life. UBC has changed my life in such ways that it would take me a book to explain, but I will give you the short version. As a 26 year old woman life wasn’t looking to pleasant physically. Before the UBC program I had uncontrolled blood pressure issues and was told 3 years ago I had diabetes. If this isn’t enough, three and a half weeks before committing to the first UBC session I had a major surgery. Once I got clearance from the doctor I met with Sifu George Kee and he assured me that I can go at my own pace in the program. This made the complete difference in choosing UBC to be the program for me. The first week or so was tough, but there was a lot of motivating individuals there in the midst. As the weeks continued I noticed how much I needed to be in class no matter what. I noticed my complete dedication to the program when I came to UBC in those rainy days that thunderstorm Fay gave us. There wasn’t a day that I was there that I did not feel support and aching muscles at the same time…..but I LOVED every minute of it. I had great results in my first session of UBC. I lost 12 pounds and 4 inches off of my waistline. I was focused on keeping the weight off. I wanted to make an even bigger change in my health and my weight, after another discussion with the UBC coaches; I decided to try UBC again. Yes, I love a challenge!

My second session of UBC was just as exciting as the first. I had amazing results. I lost 14 ponds and 3 inches off of my waist. Who would have ever thought that I would feel better at 27 years of age than I could ever remember? I know I didn’t!   After taking the course the second time I noticed that my endurance was phenomenal. I ran my first 5K and did not have to stop at all. Here’s the best story of them all! As I told you before I have had diabetes for the last three years and this year, on May7, 2009 my doctor received my blood work and called me to tell me good news. I walked into her office and she asked me in amazement, “How did you do this?” I was curious of what she was speaking of. She finally said to me that my hemoglobin level had gone from a 6.8 to 5.2, which meant that I won my battle with diabetes. You are reading correct. I AM NO LONGER CONSIDERED A DIABETIC!  My doctor is in shock of the drastic change that has occurred with my health. Hey, believe me she is not the only one!

I started the UBC course seeking improvements in my physical being. I never ever thought that I would get a physical, mental, and psychological makeover? I really enjoyed the variety of kickboxing and the resistance training that is involved in the program.  I tried in both UBC sessions to give 100% at all times. Some days this was very hard, but I knew I had a goal in mind. This goal was to be the best I can be. “Think strong Tynishia” was a repeated verse in my head as I completed six rounds of kickboxing.  It was also a verse that was shouted out by the instructors, which I might add are the BEST! Their encouragement makes you want to push, and be your very best.

This experience has been positively amazing! I thought that I could not think of myself doing anything else to maintain this attitude that I have about exercising.  Thank you UBC teammates for keeping classes exciting. Also a special thank you to Sifu George, Isabel, Rachel, Hunter, Michelle, Donna, and Claudia for all of your support and encouragement!

Always Smiling,
