About two years ago, I joined a gym so I can get in better shape and become healthier. I quickly ran into a problem. I found going to the gym very boring. As a result, I slowly stopped going to the gym especially since I didn’t see any real results. In June, my wife brought me the UBC flyer. At the beginning, I was very skeptical about the program. However, my wife and I decided to give it a try. Especially considering that during this time I had visited my doctor and was told my cholesterol was too high. I needed to do something quickly to get me on the right track.
The first week was tough, especially the nutrition part because I love to eat! I really missed my Spanish dishes. By week two, it was easier and more fun. As the weeks went by I felt stronger, healthier, and better about myself. UBC has made a big difference in me. I know understand portion control and the proper things to eat to help me be healthier and achieve better results. I feel good about myself and feel that I’m in better shape then ever was. I have more energy and even though I have not tested my cholesterol yet, I’m sure it’s much lower. The course is easy and fun! I would recommend it to anybody that wants to get in shape and have fun while doing it. I’ve never been to a place where I had so much fun while working out. I really enjoyed the team atmosphere. The support and guidance that I received was great. The staff made me to look forward to the next workout. They greet you by name when you come in and make you feel very comfortable. The staff at Wah Lum Kung fu was fantastic. I would like to thank them for all their support. Special thanks to George, Isabel, Rachael and Michelle.
