What UBC Means to Me

My Grandfather died at the age of 63 from heart disease.  My father died at the age of 55 from heart disease.  I just turned 40 and I plan on living to well past 80, and thanks to UBC I feel I have learned the skills that I can use to make that happen.

When my father passed away I knew then that the future did not bode well for me living a long life and I needed to make changes to the way I lived.  Over the years I have lifted weights and in-line skated and I ate what many would consider a pretty healthy diet, but in recent years I had become complacent and lazy.  I began  to notice that my 30” waist was beginning to have a much more difficult time fitting into my 30” pants, my belt loop was two notches over from where I used to wear it, I had no energy, I didn’t sleep well, and I had to take naps everyday.  Then along came UBC and a new lease on life.

Since starting UBC the first thing I noticed after about a week and a half was that my blood pressure dropped from an average of 125/80 down to 115/65.  The next thing I noticed after about week four was that my hair stopped falling out!  There were days when I really didn’t feel like going to class and didn’t have the energy during class but I continued to push myself despite what I was feeling.  By week seven I felt like I had really hit my stride with the whole program.  I noticed that I had boundless energy, I was sleeping better and I hardly ever needed a nap.  I got a belt loop back.  I’m getting a pretty good six pack and I’m seeing my body weight shift from my midsection back up to my chest and shoulders, which is where it should be.  I can reach out while seated and grab my feet with BOTH hands (as opposed to NO hands), which I couldn’t do before.  I now carry a water bottle with me wherever I go.  I’m much better at balancing my intake of carbohydrates and proteins, and I’m getting better at watching my sugar intake.  All this because of UBC.

Thanks to UBC my life is changed for the better, FOREVER!
