1995 –1997
“Mulan”
Mimi was chosen for the model and martial arts video reference for the
character Mulan in Disney’s “Mulan”. Character drawing
sessions and live action video reference shooting was done over the
course of 3 years. Mimi’s cousin, George Kee, was chosen to play
the part of Captain Shang Li. Together, they choreographed fight sequences
for the musical “I’ll make a man out of you” and the
end finale. She worked with supervising animator, Mark Henn, as well
as several other talented animators. Mulan was released in theaters
in June 1998. Mulan was released on video in 1999.
1997
“Secret of the Warrior’s Power”
Mimi was featured in the Discovery Channel documentary with her father,
Grand Master Chan Pui. Filming took place at the Wah Lum Kung Fu Temple
in Orlando, FL.
1998
“Mortal Kombat Conquest”
Episode : Kreeya
Mimi appeared as a warrior fighter from an alternate realm that fights
the evil sorcerer Shang Tsung. As one of Kreeya’s warriors, she
was sent to rescue Vorpax from Shang Tsung. Mimi was the warrior to
defeat Shang Tsung.
1999
The Disciples
Mimi was the stunt double for the main character Lisa, played by Erin
Daniels. She worked with the directors and producers of “The Big
Hit,” and also had the opportunity to work with Lau Chi Ho, a
famous Hong Kong stunt director. The cast also included famous rapper
Ice T. The movie aired on October 29, 1999 on UPN.
2000-2001
“Fistfull of Dragons”
Mimi is currently working on the production of “Fistfull
of Dragons” a kung fu parody starring and written by Michael Winslow.
She will be starring as one of the main characters in the film and also
is the stunt coordinator.
2002
“Chang Family Saves the World”
Mimi’s latest work takes her to Hollywood, CA where she worked
with stunt coordinator Andy Cheng (Jackie Chan stunt team member, as
well as Jackie’s double).
